Top 5 Collaborations We Wished For That Never Came To Pass

There are some line ups that music lovers have been anticipating because of the hype around both artistes and so fans want them to pitch in on each other but they never happened because of ego, some because they are not in good terms, some just cause it isn’t just realistic because of unclear arrangements. In no particular order, I present to you in no particular order – The Top 5 Collaborations we wished for that never came to be.

1.Davido & Wizkid

This is arguably the most anticipated collaboration that never came to pass. It is entirely a case of egoistic difference. These two are regarded as the biggest musical figures for some years now. Their rivalry is likened to that of Ronaldo and Messi in soccer ⚽. They have fierce rivalry even between their fans which also has further the huge vacuum between them. They were friends earlier in their careers as Wizkid and Davido used to hang out a lot. Wizkid even appeared in Davido’s ‘Dami Duro’ video some years back.
Since there is really no bigger intermediary between them, a collabo is almost impossible.

2.Peter Okoye(Mr.P) & Usher

Switch back to 15 years ago and merely bringing up this conversation sparks up a lot of excitement and adrenaline rush. Why was that so? Psquare Especially Mr.P had dance, physical, and vocal similarities with U.S singer Usher. It was a major talking point then. Unfortunately, they had to focus on other collaborations such as Rick Ross, T.I etc.

Today, the group Is now defunct with no iota of an eventual come back. Although, Mr.P still maintains same style with Usher but a collabo? Hmm I doubt.

3. Tiwa Savage & Yemi Alade

Arguably the two biggest female musicians in Africa. They both posses unique styles that made them stand out. They have been rivals as well. Both have a lot going on and so none can make a move for a collabo. Typical enmity that exists between women though.

A collabo between this two would had been an awesome showpiece but it doesn’t look achievable anytime soon.

4. Nas and MI Abaga

This could had been a lyrical masterpiece as both are known for their lyrical prowess. M.I made a huge effort at making the collabo work by paying a certain sum to Nas. But according to him Nas violated the contractual agreement by giving a weak recording and was asked to re-record and thus ended in a legal tussle afterwards with Nas asked to settle M.I for damages.

5. MI Abaga and Vector

This is a battle of egomaniacs. Both don’t see eye for eye and it is so because one feels higher, while the other feels left out. Both rappers have been seen on a group collaborations. Both appeared on V.J Adams define Rap and also on Zoro’s – one on one. They had a heated beef last year. Seems like a collabo between this two doesn’t look realistic!
