Mr Morale & The Big Steppers by American rapper Kendrick Lamar has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, and is the biggest debut of 2022 so far.
The album was released on May 13, first announced on April 18 by Lamar in a blog post in which he also made known that it would be his last album under Top Dawg Entertainment, under which he has spent 17 years.
Like his last three albums became chart-toppers, Lamar has scored a fourth chart-topper on the Billboard 200 with his fifth album.
‘Mr Morale & The Big Steppers’ garnered 295,500 album-equivalent units, the biggest debut of the year so far (a position last held by Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti).
‘I Never Liked You’, Future’s latest album, held the position a week before Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti (now at no. 2) dethroned it.
Lamar, a 14–time Grammy-award winner, is presently having a good time in Ghana, before he begins his album’s tour.
