5 Words You Probably Don't Know In Falz ft Vector 'Yakubu' Lyrics [Explained]

Falz and Vector compose a diss track for the INEC chairman in new song ‘Yakubu’ and these are some words you probably don’t understand in the socially conscious song ‘Yakubu’

“Come and collect Oscar 300 billion te gbà lówó ìjoba
Kí le fi se ná sir ? A ti fi je Mossa” :

On November 3rd, 2022, it was announced that 300 billion will be spent by the electoral umpire to conduct the just concluded election. Falz in a subtle diss says that the money was not used for election, rather it was used to eat goodies.

“Suddenly e scatter Area boy ti jagba
As Ole dey japa Olopa dey guide am”

The singer is talking about the snatching of ballot box in the 2023 election, he further posit that even the security operatives aided and were heavily involved in election violence as they guarded the thugs who committed the heinous crime.

“You wayo the number The portal, e shut down
You drop us the lamba Somebody e hack am”

The most surprising event about the election happened on February 27th when INEC revealed that their Irev portal is facing hitches, and the commission failed to upload the election results on time. This is what Falz is refering to here by alleging the electoral umpire of tampering with the results.

“Mr Yakubu who is not like Gowon He’s not head of state

He doesn’t need a gunHe took the results verified by a lot”

It was under Yakubu Gowon as the head of state that Nigeria slipped into the infamous civil war which killed thousands of people. Comparing Mahmood Yakubu to Yakubu Gowon, Vector with this line is indirectly saying that the Inec chairman does not need a gun to kill as he has already done that by allegedly tampering with the election result.

Unreasonable tribal prejudice galore
Sèbí wón ti sanwó? E ti sáré koó
O wá so fun p’ó ti joba tán, kón ma gbádébò

As it could be seen, Falz is talking about the tribal war that occurred in Lagos prior to the governorship election. ‘Sanwo’ in the lyrics above is referring to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos while Gbadebo’ is talking about Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the governorship candidate under Labour Party whom many throw different tribal slurs and say he can’t be the governor of the state because his mum is from another tribe. Forgetting that his Dad is an indigene of the state with history dating back to over 200 years.

I wonder how fools like you are still able to afford data to surf the internet and blindly drop stupid comments, here and there. There must be some sort of allowee for high grade fools empowering you. just wait, better hunger dey come. If the get away with this their daylight robbery. you’ll 1st hand learn the meaning of the word “fool” and understand they played on your bias once more to get what was needed, and do not need you anymore. Here’s to hoping you dont die out of starvation before the next 8 years of suffering you bought yourself ends.

Why are we always blindfolded by sentiment, this has nothing to do with personal candidate or whatever
This is all about us, democracy and unfair justice by the inec. Stop being sentimental. Gosh

You saying this is rather pure hypocrisy to me. Falz dissing yakubu has nothing to do with candidate not winning the election, is because of the unfair judgment by the inec chairman in the just concluded presidential polls. it was rigged and you know it, stop been sentimental, lets be realistic for once in our lives

Hmm, I don’t think this diss track will change and give Falz what he want.

He diss Yakubu because his candidate is unable to win the election.

This is pure hypocricy at its peak.
