REVIEW: ‘Shu-Peru’ By Kizz Daniel Shouldn’t Have Left His Studio!
Hey, we might have a new song competing for the worst song of the year title. I’m talking of ‘Shu-Peru’ by Nigerian Afropop singer Kizz Daniel.
Kizz Daniel saw great success after his 2022 release ‘Buga’, which is his biggest song yet in terms of streams and views. Prior to that, he was fading away from the scene. But he was lucky, ‘Buga’ brought him back! He quickly followed it up with ‘Cough’, which saw average success.
His new release which he called ‘Shu-Peru’ is not a great record by any stretch. It is repetitive, boring, and better off unreleased. This song has also exposed him as a lazy songwriter and melody maker. Also, can he stop those horrible adlibs he does already? They are the same on each of his records.
Kizz Daniel starts off the first verse of the song with ‘We dey do bad things for good reasons and we dey do good things for bad reasons’. Perhaps only he can explain what he meant with this line. The lyrics in this new song are pointing to the belief I have always had of him – he is a poor writer!
Besides that the title of the song “Shu Peru” has no meaning, the two verses aren’t in sync. He was sweating while putting the song together. And it can be felt. There’s a similarity between the song and songs from his last EP Barnabas. He is not trying to change creatively. ‘Can he make a global hit with this style?’ is another question begging for answers.
‘Shu-Peru’ shouldn’t have left his studio. And to Kizz Daniel, it’s criminal to keep microwaving your songs.

This is a frustrated fun who critics a player while himself has never stepped in the pitch beyond paying a ticket to watch a local football club in the village…!!!!puga!!

I love the song.. You are such a critic, so u never saw any good thing, in the song but just the bad side?! The song is perfect and lovely!! Stop hating even though the lyrics is not much. I love the song die!!
