Tems Sets New Records As Her Single ‘Free Mind’ Goes Platinum In US
Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Tems has established new records with her song ‘Free Mind’ which just went Platinum in the US.
Chart Data, this morning (October 7), reported on X that Tems’ single ‘Free Mind’ had been certified Platinum by the RIAA, the American body responsible for certifying songs and albums within the US, for having sold 1,000,000 units requisite for a Platinum status in the country.
Tems is now the first Nigerian female artist in history to earn a solo Platinum-certified song in the US.
Her other two songs with Platinum status in the US being ‘Essence’ (featured by Wizkid) and ‘Wait For You’ (featured by Future), Tems is also the first African female artist to have three Platinum records in the country considered as World’s biggest music market—America.
